From 637ACW
Earlier service as a draftsman/graphics specialist with the 633 AC&W Sqdn. at Benghazi Libya and with the 4713 Radar Eval Sqdn. at Rome NY. Retrained as computer tech at Keesler 1958-'59, then assigned to the 637th AC&W Sqdn. and arrived at Othello in September '59 as junior member of the analog computer maintenance team (AN/GPS-37) with John Stanton, Bob Risley and George Scott, all of whom also made the 2008 reunion. Progressed to A/1c and cross-trained into digital computer maintenance (AN/FST-2) where I worked until I got out in September '62. After Tech-repping on the B-52 bomber Electronic Warfare Officer (EWO or 'Crow') simulator and AN/ALR-19 receiver for most of two years, got a job as programmer that led to a successful career in Data Processing and Information Technology. Also taught these subjects as professor at the University of Maryland-College Park and City University of New York-Brooklyn College. Retired in early 1998 to the Sarasota-Venice area of Florida where Pat, my lovely wife of 43+ years and I still reside.
The 2008 reunion in San Antonio was my first, both Pat and I had a great time, and we look forward attending future reunions when possible. Until then, we'll cruise as often as we can (a looming problem to finance now in mid-October 2008) and enjoy retirement in our home in Nokomis (we designed and built it to include a private two bedroom and bath guest suite) where we genuinely look forward to visits from family and friends. We also plan to tour regions of the US we haven't visited before, including many in the south- and mid-west and the mountain states, hopefully in conjunction with future reunions.
