From 637ACW
Earlier service as a draftsman/graphics specialist with the 633 AC&W Sqdn. at Benghazi Libya and with the 4713 Radar Eval Sqdn. at Rome NY. Retrained as computer tech at Keesler 1958-'59, then assigned to the 637th AC&W Sqdn. at Othello in Sept. '59 as junior member of the analog computer maintenance team (GPS-37) with John Stanton, Bob Risley and George Scott, all of who came to the 2008 reunion. Promoted to A/1c and cross-trained into digital computer maintenance (FST-2) before honorable discharge in Sept. '62.
After most of two years as tech-rep on the B-52 bomber Electronic Warfare Officer (EWO or 'Crow') simulator and ALR-19 radar warning receiver, took a job as computer programmer that led to a great career in Data Processing and Information Technology with New York and New Jersey and the Washington METRO Transit Authority. Completed my education at night and taught computing and technology management at the University of Maryland-College Park and CUNY-Brooklyn College toward the end of my career. Retired in early 1998 to the Sarasota-Venice area of Florida where Pat, my lovely wife of 45 years and I now reside.
The 2008 reunion in San Antonio was our first, both Pat and I had a great time and look forward to attending future reunions when/if possible. Until then, we'll cruise whenever we can (a looming problem to pay for since the Great Recession of 2008) and enjoy retirement at the home we designed and had built near Venice Fl, where we look forward to visits from family and friends. We also plan to tour regions of the US we haven't visited, including many in the south- and mid-west and mountain states, some hopefully to attend future Radar Veterans reunions.
